I was digging around through some old photographs and found this. I don't know what year this was taken but I suspect it was around 2000. It's been a long time since I drank Red Stripe and those glasses I'm wearing were bought in LA and I replaced them in 2001 if I recall.

Anyway, here's a drunk and possibly stoned daddy with his girls.



Samantha, on my lap, died on July 25, 2007 -- the same day as my grandmother. (Not the same year though.)

Jezebel, the recipient of the belly rub, died on May 31, 2004. I can hardly believe it's been that long.

Sissy, far left, is still with us.

Tot's Missing Toe

Vincent seems to notice everything. Yes, Tater Tot is missing a toe. When he first appeared in early October, 2005 he had a large red growth on his toe. I had no idea what it was or what caused it. By late December it still hadn't healed. txrad let him in the house on December 30 and Tater Tot slept with me in my bed that night.

The next morning when I got up I noticed the sheets were stained with blood and there were also bloody track marks on the tile floor in the bathroom. I took him to the vet that morning to see what they could do. Tot had a broken bone in his toe and it was infected. The vet said the best thing to do would be to remove the toe so that's what we did.

He never seemed to be in pain either before or after the surgery but I'm glad we got that done. He had a purple sock on his foot for about a week during the healing process.

Big Pussy

In preparation for the Friday Pussy Blog at my other blog, I thought I'd share a photo I took a couple of years ago at the Austin Zoo.

The Austin Zoo is very close to our house and it's not so much a zoo in the traditional sense. It's more of a rescue mission for animals which have been abused, mistreated, or kept in illegal captivity.

And I only posted this to have something up since Christmas. I've been busy poking my nose into Blogger templates and tweaking HTML code to get the Blogrolls set up the way I want them. The Blogroll over here was simply a test before I took it over to the konagod site and began converting my blogroll from a manual process to a one-click process using Blogrolling. And I seem to be having some issues, so I'll try and get that figured out on Friday.

Just another day of work

And this is how it starts.

Actually, there's a big part of me that is looking forward to NOT going into the office so I can stay home and deal with this. At least until I can figure out what the next chapter in my life will be.

I'm planning to take the entire month of January off to deal with personal things. Visiting my mother, life assessment, doing some more painting, organizing the house. You know, all the usual bullshit.

txrad just asked me if I wanted him to set the alarm clock. I told him, "No, I don't ever plan to set it again."
