New spoons & new specs
It was a good afternoon for me. My highly-coveted spoons arrived today.
I am so excited I can hardly contain myself. The spotted spoon is flipped to show off all the spots on the backside since the inner side of the spoon is not spotted. I call it my "speckled spoon." It makes me smile just looking at it.
The tag attached to it read: "Fully functional and delightfully contagious." Absolutely.
After unwrapping the spoons it was time to go pick up my new glasses which arrived today. I really love the blue coloration in the frames. It's definitely interesting and unique. I don't notice it so much indoors but outside and under flash photography it's really obvious.
I tried them on in the store and I was pleasantly surprised. There was not so much of a difference for me looking up and down, but when looking left and right I was sensing the distortion in my periphery vision.
What I didn't do in the store though was get up and walk around. I typically look down a lot when I'm walking. You never know when you'll find money on the ground. When I got home and put them on and started walking around I almost got sick. Because when I'm looking down now it's through the reading portion of the lenses.
Now I'm finally understanding why txrad had such a hard time adjusting to his glasses -- also progressive lenses. I have noticed that images and text on my computer monitor is a lot sharper. We'll see if typos decrease. I'm still going to have several days of adjusting to do. I don't look very convinced, do I?
Lots of things are moving around. But I remember txrad saying the same thing and finally he adjusted to them.
I'm also not used to the heavier acetate frames. I've only worn titanium frames for the past 12 years or so. Ask me again in a week or so.
